Comprehensive Leadership Assessment

"I'm a bit blown away by my 360 degree feedback. It shows I'm weak in some critical people leading skills. I never really understood how I come across to others until now. If I don’t change, it could cost me big time. Not just in not achieving my department’s goals, but in getting the assignments I want. Who can help me learn to change?"
- VP, Financial Institution

What's in a Leader?
What are leaders really made of? Konect Consulting offers comprehensive leadership assessment services to get you the right information so you can quickly focus your workplace behavior change efforts in the right direction.

We use assessment tools designed to uncover your current leadership abilities on a variety of dimensions of human behavior at work. Based on our initial conversations about your concerns, we decide what to evaluate. Maybe it’s learning more about your communication and decision-making style. Or how your attitudes and beliefs about work are influencing your ability to effectively supervise a person with a different attitude. Knowing more facts about your personality, your emotional intelligence at work, and your versatility as a leader, will provide you the road map to follow. The assessments will help you clearly determine what skill sets to keep, what to modify and what to sharpen.

We also assess:
• Your job requirements
• Your view of your capabilities to meet the requirements
• Your organization’s expectations of successful performance of your role
We will help you determine the degree of “fit” between these three constructs. We may provide you with information from a multi-rater feedback instrument to help discern the “gaps” and “synergies” between your self-perceptions and the perceptions of your co-workers.

Konect Consulting provides services to the human resources professional who oversees talent selection, development and management.

One of our reliable assessment tools is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) of which we are extensively trained and practiced. We also use selected measures of emotional intelligence like the EQi by Bar-Alon, the FIRO-B and the leadership versatility index to tell more about interpersonal style and leadership competencies.

Team Building

"People are at each other's throats, trying to out maneuver each other in our shop. The tension is getting to me because I'm just not a political, game playing kind of person. I'd like to know how I can deal with this situation and still get recognition and respect."
- Manager, Insurance Company

Negotiation and Conflict Management
Often team building services are requested when there’s been a breakdown in communication between: individuals in the same or across departments; you and your board; you and the manager you thought was doing a better job; you and your erratic yet demanding boss.

It’s difficult to have a safe, meaningful discussion when you and others are harboring intense feelings of distrust and suspicion.

Our approach to team building is practical and has long-term benefits.
• We assess your particular situation and design programs and interventions that get people through the misunderstanding and miscommunication and back to productive decision-making.
• We will teach communication skills from basic to advanced and teach personality style differences for the workplace.
• We will break them down into modules and then put them all back together to create a measurable change in your experience of working together.

Building Accountability and Improving Communication

"I haven't had much luck with getting some of my people to be accountable for their projects from start to finish. Somewhere along the line, they drop the ball and expect me to pick up the pieces. I need help dealing with these kind of folks whose work ethic is so different from mine."
- Director, Accounting Firm

Motivating Others
It is hard to effectively lead and motivate others through the process of becoming accountable to you. You may have received feedback that you are too forceful or, perhaps, too easy-going. Either way, you have to deal with the consequences of delegating to someone who doesn’t follow through. We help you learn to improve your skills in motivating others to be accountable. Improving your communication skills is at the heart of the process. Our goal is to help you increase your versatility as a leader so that you choose the optimal thing to say and say it in the right way at the right time a greater percentage of the time with your people.

We provide services to the human resources professional who oversees talent selection, development and management.

What Makes You Tick

"I've got an offer to join a new company. The last eight years of pressure and stress with my old employer has really done a number on my head. I want help to clear out the old baggage, get some perspective and bring my best self to the new job."
- Executive, Health Care Organization

Zero In On Your Uniqueness
We are in a tough economy. You may be currently unemployed. You may have left a job under duress or by your choice. Looking back, you wonder what baggage you’re carrying that could hurt your chances of successfully getting and keeping your next leadership position. You want to take a look backwards to explore what went wrong. You want to regain your focus and confidence so you can present yourself as an emotionally balanced job seeker. We offer executive coaching assessment and services designed to help you in your process of rebuilding your self-esteem. We provide you with feedback concerning your workplace behaviors and experiences that will prepare you for your next place of employment. These services complement standard outplacement services and can be paid for from an outplacement budget by arrangement.

When the CEO Needs to Talk

"My spouse is noticing how distant I've become, complaining that I'm too preoccupied with work to enjoy spending time with our family. Who can I talk to about making changes that I can sustain given the pressures I'm under?"
- Founder, Biotech Company

Adding Balance to Life
It’s lonely at the top.
We are here as a listening partner for confidential conversation about the kinds of people problems that are crowding your mind. You set the agenda. The assessment for these services is straightforward, mostly involving interviewing. The bulk of our work is focused on your talking about the challenges you face and hearing a fresh perspective with no strings attached. The coach is not part of your company, does not have a vested interest, nor will be impacted by what you ultimately decide to do. Our coaching relationship remains confidential.

Many executives report that talking with a coach helps them regain focus and balance, helps them establish or recommit to personal priorities, and restores their zest for living. The coaching experience helps you move forward to make tough decisions that you may be avoiding. At Konect Consulting, we have the necessary skills, experience and understanding to help you. That’s the clear advantage of choosing an executive coaching firm that uses licensed psychologists as executive coaches.
